The Knight is a perfect representative of his estate. Some scholars say he is too perfect to be true. He loves the chivalric virtues of 'trouthe, honour, fredom, and curteisie'. He has campaigned all over the world in Christian and heathen lands and was always victorious. Yet he is modest and polite. We are not given his name, nor do we get a description of his crest. He apparently did not fight in the Hundred Years' War.
